FINSTERNIS

16.2hh Bay Swedish Warmblood Stallion
10th December, 1990
Finista x Nora Dame
Grand Prix Dressage
HOCK, Hay!Land, Caballus

Finsternis combined the best of everything: wonderful conformation, passionate performances and beautiful foals. He has beautiful, flowing movements and a natural style that gives a certain flair to everything he does. He has a classic and elegant style to him that is often lost in the modern world of horse training. It was this quality that attracted me to him in the first place, many years ago.

After a successful year competing at Intermediare I and II dressage in 2001, Fin debuted in Grand Prix dressage at the start of 2002 with great suceess. He rapidly progressing in his training, and has a natural apptitude to learn. He is not always an easy horse to ride, requiring a firm hand and confident rider. He seems to get especially naughty just before going into the arena, but once there seems to understand that this is business. He can be quite unnerving for the nervous rider to handle!

Fin was the foundation sire for the Swedish Warmblood string at Epiphany Performance Horses and Heritage Park. He was awarded entry into the Caballus Warmblood Horse Registry Stallio0n Grade II Studbook with a Blue Preferred rating. In 2003, he also was awarded the silver medal in Grand Prix Dressage at the 2003 Caballus Olympics. Fin's retirement is well-earned, but his presence continues with the lovely stallion Fabergé as well as his eldest offspring - the stunning Finesse.
