WORK OF ART

16hh Dark Bay Thoroughbred Stallion
31st September, 1987
Working Class Man x Mona Lisa
Grand Prix Dressage
MANE, PONY, HOCK

The first contact I had with Work of Art was when I was looking for some outside lines in Australia to breed to my mare Gina at my first barn Crescent Acres. I found Arty, then just three years old, at Simpleton Farm in Victoria. Then he was a nice looking, well mannered colt - he grew into an acclaimed dressage star.

By the time he was 7 he was already competing at Grand Prix level with the greatest of ease. His acheivements were recognised by the EFA and he was shortlisted by the Australian Bloodhorse Breeders Association as being one of Australia's top Thoroughbred studs. In February 1998 I made an offer to his owner, and so Work of Art came to Crescent Acres. Within his first month he was MECS approved on the first application. This stunning stallion also earned himself a Bronze medal at the 1998 Horse Country Olympics for Grand Prix Dressage.

Work Of Art was retired from sim-games when Crescent Acres closed down for the last time in HOCK, after which time I took the focus off breeding thoroughbreds at my new barn and cut down the number of thoroughbred stallions I kept. His legacy continues in Riata with Jessie, a very special mare who was my first ever horse in sim-games and who was also the result of that first Work Of Art breeding!
