History

Terre D'Ange is the end product of many years of cyber-barn gaming. I orginally joined my first cyber-barn game, Horse Country's MANE, in 1995. I boarded at Crown Woodlands run by Astrid with my two original of all original horses, Jessie a thoroughbred mare and Foxfire a thoroughbred gelding. Before long I acquired my first purchase, an amazing young westphalian dressage stallion by the name of Crown Farinelli. Fari was responsible for starting my long-standing love of Westphalians that continues to this day. Soon, my creations Prima (a TB stallion) and his daughter Rosehill joined my crew. My final additions to my boarding herd were Greenwood White as Grass and Greenwood Extravaganza, two Belgian Warmbloods I purchased from Astrid.

January 1996 saw the opening of my first cyber-barn, Crescent Acres. Located in the Beaudesert area of Queensland, Australia, Crescent Acres was a rapidly growing and versatile breeding and showing barn. CA's foundation TB sire was the amazing Rising Sun, who sired numerous champions and who was a dressage and show jumping champion himself. His most famous offspring included Prima, Pink Lace, Crescent Pride, Charity, Rising Monarch and Rising Gold. CA also stood other exceptional thoroughbred sires such as the HC Olympic dressage competitors Work of Art and Sir Lancelot. Work of Art went on to win several bronze medals.

CA continued to expand in different directions. We had a strong westphalian breeding program, with Crown Farinelli as our foundation sire. We also had the exceptional eqyptian arabian Sultan Pepper, who won more titles and awards than could be mentioned here. Benvolio, a phenominal Andalusian Grand Prix dressage competitor was given to CA by Sarah Hayes of Windsong EC when she left MANE. Other featured breeds included Australian Stock Horses, Appaloosas, Palouse Ponies and Lipizzaners as well as the inclusion of numerous warmbloods. Ranger became my foundation Australian Stock Horse stallion.

And I must mention my most famous ever horse Gambler. Gambler was my RL horsey love at my riding school, and I took him from the beautiful, quiet lesson horse that he is and transformed him into one of MANE's top eventers. He won so many awards and ribbons, and was the most decorated horse at Crescent Acres.

CA was a very large barn. At its largest, it also comprised of four sub-divisions in addition to the main showing property in Beaudesert. Argento Acres in Scone was our Lipizzaner division, Bluegrass Acres on the outskirts of Melbourne was our racing division, Heritage Pony Academy in Gatton was our pony division, and Interlude Meadows in Warwick was our breeding division.

When MANE closed, CA moved to PONY in 1999 and down-sized. We refined our show and breeding stock and moved all the horses back to the original property. However, CA was only active for a few months. I had just started university interstate and didn't have easy internet access, so CA very sadly closed it's doors.

However, on September 17th, 1999 CA experienced a re-birth with the re-opening of HOCK. CA came back better than ever. The show and breeding stock were even further refined, though it was still considered one of the larger barns! Unfortunately, I just couldn't keep as active as needed with my reduced internet access, so once again CA closed. This time, Crescent Acres had closed forever. Some horses would return in my future stables, and those that didn't went on permanent sim-retirement.

This was not the end of my involvement in sim-games however. In December 2000, after a lengthy absence, I rejoined HOCK in a boarder capacity. Gambler made his comeback of course. However, this also signalled the brith of a new era for me and my horses. Bolero, Finesse and J'Taime all made their first appearances at this time.

In January 2001, I opened my new barn Epiphany Performance Horses, located in the Logan area of Queensland. Enter Finsternis, Banshee, Journeyman, Baroque, Buckingham, Botticello, Tarantella, Blitz, Empire, Libelle and Chandliere. EPH was a new beginning for me in cyber-games.

EPH quickly expanded as I purchased new horses and bred new foals. I also gave in to sentimentality and introduced several horses from CA, or with CA bloodlines, in the interest of keeping the old HC bloodlines alive. Rising Sun made a comeback, along with Ranger, Choconello (Crown Farinelli's son) and the new creation of Sircharge (Sir Lancelot x Charity).

HOCK started slowing down at the beginning of 2002. By July, the level of inactivity got to the point where I decided to leave HOCK and join Hay!Land. I made this move with Wendy (then known as Ophelia), and it wasn't long before our old HC buddy Beth joined too. I started boarding at KWF Inc. Sporthorses, and brought my old EPH horses with me. My original five were Bolero, Finsternis, Empire, Rising Gold and Buckingham.

Heritage Park made it's first appearance as a mini-barn at KWF. However, life got hectic and I left the game in August 2002. I rejoined on the 1st of October that year, again as a boarder and Heritage Park officially opened it's doors on the 1st of November, 2002. However, just after making the grade for main barn in HayLand, I left to find a game more suited to my needs.

Beth and I opened Caballus in January, 2003. Heritage Park opened its doors, and once again I had a very large and active breeding and showing barn. Bolero became the leading Westphalian sire of Caballus, and was in high demand as a stallion. With the mounting pressures of now third year vet school I found I had less time for the many committments I had in Caballus, and Beth and I decided that we needed to close the game in August 2004.

I came to Riata in December 2004, in a much more relaxed capacity. With a year out of lectures for research in 2005, I had more time to spend on the game. A new start was needed, and Terre D'Ange was born. An all new barn with all new horses, though there are some horses with old bloodlines just to keep some of the past alive. Some of the other horses have been present at previous barns, but are being treated as new creations for all intensive purposes in Riata.

Alas, come 2006 and it was into fourth year vet science lectures, so in May of that year Terre D'Ange closed its doors and I had officially quit. The wonderful people of Riata took in many of my horses to 'look after them' for me, but honestly I wasn't planning on returning. Until a little minx named Beth got me remembering the good times. With no associations to run and a bit more time on my hands in fifth year veterinary intern rotations, Terre D'Ange reopened on the 26th of January 2007 - Australia Day!
